HVO 100 Renewable Diesel
Our HVO 100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) Renewable Diesel is a lower-carbon, advanced biofuel that is designed to replace standard diesel without affecting engine performance and, when approved by the manufacturer, can be used without requiring modifications to tanks or vehicle engines. Furthermore, HVO is approved by most major OEMs for use in their latest diesel engines and has better cold flow properties in cold temperatures.
Diesel
Diesel (colloquially known as White Diesel or D.E.R.V which stands for Diesel Engine Road Vehicle) or Ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) is typically used as a fuel for transport and passenger vehicles.
Unleaded petrol
Unleaded petrol is the most widely known product derived from oil. Also known as spirit or gasoline (USA), it is used for fuelling road vehicles.
Bioethanol
Bioethanol is an alcohol which can be derived from renewable resources such as sugar cane, wheat, etc. It helps the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reduces dependency on fossil fuels. The Irish specification for petrol permits the blending of up to 10% (V/V) of Ethanol.
Biodiesel
Biodiesel is a non-fossil fuel made from natural, renewable resources such as vegetable oil or animal fats. The Irish specification for transport Diesel permits the blending of up to 7% (V/V) of Biodiesel know as fatty acid methyl ester (FAME).
AdBlue
AdBlue is a colourless liquid designed to reduce emissions from commercial vehicles. AdBlue is contained in a separate tank to the fuel and is sprayed into the exhaust gases. AdBlue is available in the majority of Top Oil Fuel Card locations.

Heating oil & agri oil products
Kerosene
Heating oil product: Kerosene is the cheapest and the most popular form of home heating oil in Ireland. It’s a low-sulphur, clean burning oil which is used in the majority of modern oil-fired boiler units. It is used to fuel Aga stoves (and similar models). Kerosene produces a high level of heat in an economical manner because it burns cleanly. Kerosene is the only fuel oil suitable for use with an indoor oil-fired boiler and condensing oil-fired boiler.
Gas Oil
Heating oil product: Marked gas oil, also referred as “gas oil” or “green diesel”, is a cost efficient, clean and safe home heating alternative. It should only be used for heating systems with an outdoor burner. It is illegal to use Gas Oil to fuel an off road vehicle.
Sulphur free gas oil
Agri oil product: Sulphur free gas oil or SFGO is an eco-friendly gas oil. This fuel is used for non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) such as tractors, excavators, quarrying equipment, etc. It is dyed green in the same way as marked gas oil.
Due to the low sulphur content this fuel is better for the environment and some modern tractors now specifically require this product. It is illegal to use SFGO to fuel on the road vehicles.
