Top Oil officially opens new Forecourt Service Station at Junction 3, Cobh Cross, Cork

Top Oil officially opens a new forecourt service station in Cork at Junction 3, Cobh Cross featuring a SPAR Convenience store. New forecourt marks the latest in a series of upcoming investments by Top Oil

Monday January 9th, Cork: Top Oil, the leading Irish family owned fuel and home heating business, has officially opened its latest company operated forecourt, Junction 3 at Cobh Cross, in Cobh Cross, County Cork. The new forecourt station will employ 17 people from the surrounding Glounthaune and Carrigtwohill area, and aims to bring a significant boost to the local economy. Junction 3 at Cobh Cross marks the first in a series of planned investments by Top Oil in County Cork and across Ireland which will take place in 2017.

The new 3,000sq ft. location in Cobh Cross Industrial Estate is the latest company operated location for Top Oil since the acquisition of Sirio Holdings in April 2016 which included the acquisition of Sirio Retail’s 10 sites. Since then, Top Oil has added six new company operated sites, the most recent being Cobh Cross.

The forecourt at Junction 3, Cobh Cross offers a variety of services to its customers, including; a SPAR convenience store with great quality food and beverage offerings including a SPAR Tasty Deli and Insomnia Coffee dock. Junction 3 at Cobh’s Cross expects to see over 6,000 customers per week pass through the forecourt in the coming year.

Speaking at the launch, Gerard Boylan, Group Chief Executive Top Oil said; “The opening of Junction 3 at Cobh Cross marks the first in a series of significant investments by Top Oil both in Cork and across the country, we plan to invest further across our network of company operated sites in 2017 using Sirio as the vehicle to manage this. The official launch of the new forecourt was attended by Bobby Kerr, entrepreneur, businessman and Chairman of Insomnia Coffee. There was also a special appearance by Santa Claus and Top Oil’s mascot, Mr. Ted, who welcomed customers with festive treats.
