Fueling Communities
Connacht Rugby
Connacht Rugby and Top Oil have a long history working together and in 2016 we announced an extension to this partnership for a further three years. Top Oil will continue as the official fuel Supplier and sponsors of the Connacht Junior and Senior Schools Cup Competitions.
Over the past two years as official fuel sponsor, we have watched the Connacht Rugby team go from strength to strength in every game, and we are delighted to have been part of their journey so far. The drive, passion and ambition which has led to Connacht Rugby’s recent successes has also been inspirational to our own team at Top Oil.
Brian Mahony, Head of Commercial & Marketing at Connacht Rugby added: “We are looking forward to further developing our partnership over the next three years and helping Top Oil achieve their business objectives both in Connacht and across the country.”
Sligo Rovers
This year we announced the continuation of our sponsorship with Sligo Rovers. The partnership will see Top Oil get behind the Bit o’Red as they battle it out in the SSE Airtricity League.
Sligo Rovers Chairman Martin Heraghty commented: “It’s a great endorsement of the hard work and commitment of our players at Sligo Rovers that Top Oil has once again come on board and we look forward to working with them to do something really special this season.”
Our association with Sligo Rovers also extends to local level with the community at large. We are delighted to be sponsoring Sligo and many other sports organisation and communities around Ireland.
Junior Achievement Ireland
We know that education is fundamental to people meeting their potential. To continue to provide our customers with exceptional service , we need a well – educated and diverse workforce. At the same time, we know that our people can inspire young people through sharing their skills and experiences. This is why we first partnered Junior Achievement in 2005 and have continued this partnership ever since.
Junior Achievement Ireland inspire and motivate young people to realise their potential by valuing education , this helps them appreciate that by continuing in education they will develop the skills to succeed in the world of work. Through the Junior Achievement Ireland initiative , over a 5/6 week period volunteers from our organisation follow either a Primary or Secondary school programme with local school children. The students range in age from 5 to 18 years of age .By the end of the programmes, students will have enhanced a range of skills needed to succeed in business and will have a better understanding of what local businesses do and the career opportunities that might arise as a result. They will also have a better understanding of the economic benefits which can encourage the students to remain in education.
In 2015, Top Oil and Junior Achievement Ireland celebrated 10 years together. To date 69 Top Oil volunteers have facilitated over 125 programmes and events for over 3,000 Primary and Secondary level students in 58 schools in Carlow , Cavan , Cork , Dublin , Galway , Kilkenny , Mayo , Monaghan , Louth , Roscommon , Sligo . Westmeath and Wicklow. Hundreds of students have also visited Top Oil offices around the country where they were lucky enough to finish their programme with a school to work day. This gives the school children an opportunity to see a real working environment where they can experience the skills they learn first-hand. Our plans are to continue to grow our relationship with Junior Achievement Ireland in the future.

In 2016, we announced our two year sponsorship of the Leinster Schools GAA championships, supporting over 400 schools and 1500 matches being played within the competition across Ireland. In addition, Top Oil are proud to have had more than eight all Ireland medal winners working directly as part of our team over the years too!
