Wellness at Top Oil
Top Oil encourages the wellness and working quality of life of its employees. For this reason Top Oil has set up our dedicated wellness group.
This group consists of employees who represent different departments within the company, encouraging healthier lifestyles through activities, events and initiative promoting physical and mental well-being.
National Workplace Wellbeing Day
One of the biggest dates of our wellbeing calendar is the National Workplace Wellbeing day that takes place in March every year. The initiative promotes better health in the workplace through physical activity and better nutrition – addressing food, mental health, exercise and fun.
There was no shortage of activity around the country as employees from all Top Oil departments and depots participated. The range of activities are tailored to suit employees of all interests and fitness levels including office yoga, step aerobics, healthy lunches, smoothies, meditations and so much more. For our lunchtime mile run we even got Mr. Ted to demonstrate stretches and warm up.
The Mayo Mud Run / Runamuck Challenges
If our ongoing Wellbeing programme is not enough for some of our more adrenaline prone staff, our employees also take part in the Mayo Mud Run in the natural rugged terrain of Moygownagh and the Runamuck Challenge that takes place over an obstacle course in Naas, Co. Kildare.
These cross countries events take runners, walkers and crawlers through some of the wettest and muckiest land in Ireland. While it tested the mental and physical strength of our employees who took part, it also left them with big grins across their faces.
Positive Workplace Wellness is critical for the success of any company. At Top Oil, we are committed to ensuring that our facilities, our fleet and our technology are of a high standard to support our people in fulfilling their daily work. Feedback from staff has led to an investment programme in this area which we continue through focussing on the following:
- I.T. Infrastructure plan and network security
- Review of our local depot facilities through our improved minimum standards program
- Ongoing fleet investment & preventative maintenance program
